Among the red-edge bands, band 6 (R2 = 0.67) and 7 (R2 = 0.69), the near-infrared band 8 (R2 = 0.86) and 8a (R2 = 0.70), and band 4 (R2 = 0.67) shown a strong correlation. From short wave IR spectrum band 12 has a medium association with observed LAI with an R2 value of 0.35. Bands 3, 5, and 11 show a weak correlation with LAI measured at the field. Bands 3, 4, 5, and 12 show a negative association whereas bands from 6–11 show a positive relationship with that of observed LAI. LAI: leaf area index; IR: infrared.
